The symbol of the upcoming year is a green wooden snake, which represents wisdom, insight, and charisma. Choosing an outfit for the New Year's celebration should take into account the symbolism of the coming year and personal style. These recommendations were prepared by image consultant and founder of the clothing brand Second Skin, Dinara Ivlieva, for readers of "MK in Kaliningrad".
The expert recommended opting for outfits in various shades of green (emerald, khaki, or grassy green), black, dark gray, brown, sandy, gold, and blue. These colors can be used in both clothing and accessories. The variety of colors allows finding a suitable option even for those who don't like to experiment. "For example, black lovers can complement their monochrome look with accessories such as gold earrings, necklace, brooch, belt, or handbag," suggested Dinara Ivlieva.
According to the image consultant, a New Year's evening outfit can also be casual. For example, it can consist of a classic pantsuit, jacket, little black dress, pencil skirt with a top, or a combination dress. "Expressive accessories can make it festive. This approach is also an example of a practical investment in a wardrobe: items bought for the holiday can be worn in everyday life, combined with different accessories," emphasized the expert.
Those who want to add another color to their monochrome look can enliven their outfit with just one new shade. Green, gold, brown, black, or blue are the most suitable colors. If they don't suit the complexion, they can be used in the lower part of the outfit: in pants, skirt, or shoes. "Silhouettes, lengths, styles, and fabrics should be chosen based on individual characteristics and comfort, rather than following fashion trends. Evening looks often include lace, mesh, sequins, organza, satin, velvet, or suit fabric. It should be noted that shiny materials reflect light and can increase volume," recommended Dinara Ivlieva.
Hair and makeup can also help create a festive look. In evening makeup, the focus can be on either the eyes or the lips. The recommended colors are the same as those suggested for welcoming the New Year. "The hairstyle also depends on the overall look: for an evening outfit, sleek or pulled-back hair is suitable, as it looks elegant and stylish. As part of the overall look, the manicure should be harmonious. If the outfit is restrained, more can be done in the nail design, but it is important to avoid excessiveness," advised the expert.
In conclusion, Dinara Ivlieva reminded everyone that a flawless and comfortable look is based on three main rules. Firstly, the outfit should match the place of celebration. For example, it is not necessary to wear an evening dress with precious stones among family members in a country house, just as one should refrain from wearing pajamas to a social event.
