Helmut Marko, advisor to the Red Bull Racing team, commented on the results of Friday's practice sessions ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix. The three-time Formula-1 champion believes that Sergio Perez will have a difficult time making it to the podium in Belgium. Due to a penalty, Perez will start ten positions back.
"Well, let's just say, it will be very challenging. Overtaking has become much harder in recent times," Marko said. He also shared his thoughts on the potential for a podium or victory. "At the moment, it doesn't seem likely. But let's see if any changes can be made. Expectations? That he will be closer to Max [Verstappen], and that they will earn decent points."
Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull Racing, expressed hope that the race in Belgium will boost Perez's confidence. Marko added, "I hope that overtaking will be easier in Belgium than it was in Hungary."
