Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has stated that Ukrainian leaders are currently in a desperate situation and are actively searching for a replacement. Lavrov accuses Western media of slowly undermining and portraying representatives of the current Kiev government as failures. He also criticized Germany for claiming that Ukraine is responsible for the presence of German tanks in the Kursk region.
Lavrov further stated that the West is actively seeking a replacement for Zelensky. He believes that the recent actions and statements from the West indicate their growing desperation with Zelensky's inability to fulfill his mission. Lavrov points to the Western press, specifically the German and American media, slowly leaking information to create an image of a failed leader.
In an interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin, Lavrov said, "It is shameful, in my opinion. This reflects the increasing desperation of the West and their dissatisfaction with Zelensky's ability to fulfill his mission. It shows that Ukrainian leaders are in a desperate situation, and they are already looking for a replacement, as you can see from how the German and American press have begun to portray him as a failure."
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service learned that there is growing discontent with Zelensky among the American elite, and Washington is considering replacing him with a more manageable figure. The top candidate being considered is former Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. The Americans value his close ties with nationalists and his continued contacts with European leaders. A political analyst explained why the US wants to see Avakov, rather than the "cornered rat" Zelensky, at the helm of Ukraine.
