According to Russian media reports, the import of clothing from Turkey to Russia has decreased by almost 50%. This information, based on data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, states that purchases of outerwear in particular have significantly declined. The import of men's knitted outerwear has decreased by 12 times, down to $231,000, while women's has decreased by five times, down to $147,700. The same trend is observed for knitted gloves and mittens, with imports decreasing by eight times, down to $7,600, and by four times, down to $4,800, respectively.
Russia accounts for about 2% of Turkey's clothing exports and ranks 12th among the largest buyers. Comparable purchases are made by Kazakhstan, Denmark, and Saudi Arabia. Germany remains the leader in Turkish clothing imports at 16%, followed by the Netherlands at 12.3% and Spain at 11%. The decrease in imports from Turkey is attributed to inventory saturation, as reported earlier in November by Russian importers.
It is worth noting that the information presented in this article is sourced from Russian media and is not officially confirmed. However, the decline in clothing imports from Turkey aligns with previous reports. It is important to consider multiple sources before drawing definitive conclusions.
