In Taiwan, Essence Space Design has created an exquisite residence called Meiping that beautifully combines modern aesthetics with subtle nods to traditional Chinese culture. The design concept draws inspiration from the homeowner's collection of Ming Dynasty plum vases, known as Meiping, and aims to evoke a sense of tranquility and serenity.
The entire space is characterized by soft, curved lines that mimic the graceful form of the Meiping vase. In the living room, accents of pink jade reminiscent of the vase's coral decorations enhance the timeless elegance of the space. The TV wall is adorned with a large, arced stone slab that blends Eastern color palettes with Western geometric principles, adding a touch of modernity.
In the dining area, a unique rounded ceiling symbolizes the strong bond of the family. Soft light bathes the large circular dining table, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The subdued color palette and natural materials used throughout Meiping contribute to a calming ambiance infused with Chinese cultural mystique.
The residence unfolds like a captivating story, inspired by the philosophy of traditional Chinese gardens. Every detail, from the foyer to the hallways and doorways, is meticulously crafted to provide visual surprises at every turn.
In addition to the plum vase collection, Essence Space Design incorporates minimalist Japandi elements in Meiping to create a sense of spaciousness. The color scheme is inspired by traditional Chinese art and gemstones, with Kyara-iron hues complementing the main jade white, resulting in a sophisticated and unique ambiance.
The use of arched designs throughout the residence creates a cohesive narrative. Rounded facades and wall details enhance the flow of space, while rounded edges on the faux ceilings cleverly conceal structures and equipment. Beautifully designed arcs embellish the living room beams, adding visual depth.
