An extraordinary exhibition titled "With a Light Step on the Cobblestones: Footwear of Ancient Novgorod, 10th-15th Centuries" is set to open in Vyborg. Visitors to the Vyborg Museum-Reserve will have the unique opportunity to explore various types of leather footwear worn by Novgorodians during the Middle Ages.
Historians have discovered that by the 15th century, Novgorod was home to seven specialized shoemaking workshops.
