A law banning the wearing of face-covering clothing has been introduced for review in the Russian government. The document was prepared by Mikhail Matveev, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
According to the proposed law, it will be prohibited to wear clothing that obscures the face. However, scarves, hats, sunglasses, and costumes of Santa Claus will not be banned. "It is necessary to find a balance between security and cultural diversity," Matveev stated.
The law allows covering the face for medical reasons, work activities, winter time, and during the celebration of New Year and other holidays.
